Rove β the handheld
A rugged pocket messenger with a physical keyboard, an always-readable e-paper display, GPS, and a long-range LoRa radio. Built to sip power β it lasts days, not hours.

RoveMesh is a handheld messenger that sends encrypted text and location for kilometres over LoRa radio β no cell towers, no SIM required. Your group stays connected in the backcountry, at sea, in a blackout, anywhere the bars run out.
Every Rove is a node. Two make a link, a few make a mesh β and messages hop device to device until they arrive.

Fixed base stations that lift the mesh across a town, campus, or event site. Self-locating, monitored around the clock, and quietly keeping every nearby Rove up to date.
No internet needed between you. Devices relay for each other, so every unit you add makes the whole network reach further and heal faster.
Anywhere people need each other and the grid can't help.
Trailheads, ski lines, hunting camps β keep the whole group in reach across ridgelines with no coverage.
Boat-to-boat and boat-to-shore messaging with position sharing, kilometres past where phones give up.
Festivals, film sets, search parties: coordinate teams over saturated or absent networks β no radios to license.
Storms and blackouts take the grid first. A mesh in a drawer is a communication plan that's always charged for the moment it isn't.
Engineered from the antenna up for range, battery, and abuse. Full gallery lands with the production reveal.
Off-grid should never mean off-guard. Security isn't a feature tier β it's the foundation every RoveMesh device stands on.
Each unit carries its own cryptographic identity and must pass a challengeβresponse handshake before the network trusts it. A cloned or counterfeit device simply never gets in.
Updates are cryptographically signed. A device verifies every byte before switching over β and if anything is wrong, it rolls itself back. No update can ever brick your Rove or a tower out in the field.
Roves keep their power-hungry radios off until there's a reason to transmit. Less airtime means longer battery β and a smaller footprint.
Device-to-device messaging needs no internet at all β the mesh keeps working when every other network is down, and the tower network is monitored and maintained so it stays that way.
Start with a pair of Roves for your pack or crew β that mesh is yours out of the box. As RoveConnect towers roll out, coverage grows from pockets to neighbourhoods: each tower self-reports its position and health to a live map, updates itself safely over the air, and serves every Rove that wanders into range.
Fleet management, live coverage maps, and remote tower operations are already running on our own network today.

Messaging device-to-device on your own mesh needs no SIM, no activation, and no fees β ever. As the RoveConnect tower network grows, an optional subscription will unlock it for extended range far beyond your personal mesh.
LoRa range depends on terrain: kilometres with line of sight, less in dense urban canyons β and every extra Rove or tower in between extends the mesh further, because devices relay for each other.
License-free ISM bands, matched to your region (915 MHz in North America, 868 MHz in Europe). No radio license required.
No β RoveMesh is built for text and location, not voice. That's a deliberate trade: text over LoRa travels further, uses a fraction of the power, and keeps working in conditions that break everything else.
RoveConnect towers fetch signed firmware once and hand it to nearby Roves at local-radio speed. Every update is verified on-device and automatically rolled back if anything fails β devices can't be bricked.
The first batch is in production now. Pre-orders ship in the order they were placed β reserving early puts you at the front of the line.
